IT Manager

Reporting to Group Chief Executive Officer, the incumbent for this position will be responsible for the management of all technological and automation aspects within the Group specific to the areas of Information Technology (IT) and Building Technology.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • In charge of IT department, its resources, and assets for PDM regionally.
  • Responsible for the Group’s Local Area Networks (LANs) and Wide Area Network (WAN) infrastructure and solution, ensuring that the networks are secure, and run efficiently and effectively.
  • Management of all the companies’ core application software, email systems, database systems and companies’ information stored on its servers both on premise and on the cloud.
  • Management of the companies’ IT hardware infrastructure included within its offices, sites, data centers, and communication rooms.
  • Management of the Group’s IT Disaster Recovery infrastructure and operation; On-Premises, Offsite and in the Cloud
  • Continuously review and update IT policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and ensuring its compliance.
  • Continuously improve and update existing IT systems in line with evolving business needs and technological shifts.
  • Responsible for the companies’ corporate Intranet and other similar information repositories.
  • Continuously review and improve PDM’s existing marketing and communication channels.
  • Management and reporting on allocation of the Group’s IT budget.
  • Implementation and management of building technology systems such as Building Management Systems (BMS), IT backbones, building systems clean power, building intercom etc.
  • Implementation and management of electronic security systems such as CCTV surveillance, access control, public address & evacuation systems etc.
  • As officer in charge of Data Protection, the IT Manager will ensure that the companies’ processes personal data of its customers/clients, staff or providers of any other information (data subjects) in compliance with applicable data protection legislation and SOPs.

 

Qualifications / Person Specifications

  • An undergraduate’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • 10 years of relevant work experience in IT roles, with a progression in responsibilities. Prior experience in managerial or supervisory positions is preferred.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team effectively, including strong communication, decision-making, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, that can address IT issues efficiently.
  • Experience in managing IT projects, including planning, execution, and delivery within budget and timelines.
  • Ability to align IT strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Ability to adapt to the constantly evolving IT landscape with the willingness to learn new technologies and skills.
  • Experience in managing relationships with IT vendors and third-party service providers.

 

Skills Requirements

  • Network Administration: Knowledge of network protocols, security, and administration.
  • Database Management: Experience with database systems like SQL Server, MySQL, or similar.
  • Cybersecurity: Understanding of cybersecurity principles, tools, and best practices.
  • IT Infrastructure: Knowledge of server management, virtualization, and storage systems
  • IT Certifications: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Server+, CompTIA Cloud+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent are preferred.
